Josianne Cutajar is a Maltese lawyer and politician who served as a Member of the European Parliament (Labour Party/S&D) from July 2019 to July 2024. She was the first Gozitan and the youngest Maltese ever elected to the European Parliament.
In the European Parliament, she worked across industry, transport, regional policy and external relations. Over the 2019–2024 term she was a full member of the Industry, Research and Energy (ITRE) Committee; a member (and previously substitute) of the Transport and Tourism (TRAN) Committee; a member of the Regional Development (REGI) Committee; vice-chair of the Delegation for relations with Australia and New Zealand; and a member of the delegations for relations with China and with the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union for the Mediterranean. She also sat on the Special Committee on the COVID-19 pandemic.
Her policy focus spans digitalisation, connectivity for islands and coastal regions, SMEs, transport and tourism.
