The move comes following a number of new business wins in the sports industry and builds on Hanover Dublin’s most successful year in 2024 - helped by the acquisition of new clients in the technology, healthcare, renewable energy and professional services sectors.
Hanover Communications recently appointed Brendan Griffin, former Minister of State at the Department of Transport, Tourism and Sport, as a Senior Public Affairs Adviser.
Lorna Jennings, Managing Director of Hanover Dublin said: “At Hanover Communications, we are constantly looking to deliver value, impact and excellence for clients across a range of sectors. Following several successful projects and new business wins in the space, we are really proud to launch a dedicated Sports PR and Public Affairs offering in the Irish market. From sponsorship and activations to strategic counsel and senior level engagement, our team in Hanover Sport Dublin brings together significant experience at the highest levels, and we look forward to working with our clients to make our mark.
“It is an incredibly exciting time for sport in Ireland. The success of Irish athletes at the Olympic Games last year has created a new generation of sports stars, and with the NFL touching down in Ireland this year, the Ryder Cup coming to Ireland in 2027, and the UEFA European Championships arriving in 2028, there is a massive buzz in the sector. We look forward to working with clients and partners to maximise these opportunities.”
To mark the launch of the new offering, Hanover Communications will be hosting a panel discussion titled Investing in the Future Development of Irish Sport on Tuesday, 10 June 2025 at 6pm at Lansdowne Football Club.
Chaired by Sinead O’Carroll, Editor of TheJournal.ie and Ireland AM host, the panel will feature contributions from Minister of State for Sport Charlie McConalogue TD, CEO of Athletics Ireland Hamish Adams, Ireland Rugby 7s player and 2x Olympian Mark Roche, and Dame Tracey Crouch - Hanover’s Managing Director for Sport and former UK Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Sport, Tourism and Heritage.
