Communicating effectively is essential at a time when global events could have been destabilised by the COVID-19 pandemic and as the most complex global event ever hosted in Dubai, it was vital to Expo 2020 Dubai to not only ensure the safety of its visitors and workforce, but also protect its reputation and safeguard its legacy.

Expo recognised the importance of reputation management early in its planning process to ensure the organisation was prepared for any eventuality. Expo appointed Hanover as its communications agency to prepare for the Middle East’s first mega event.
Although delayed by a year due to COVID-19, the event was the first of its kind in the GCC region attracted over 25 million visitors, with participants from more than 180 countries.
We provided senior strategic advice on proactive international reputation management across the GCC and international media hubs including the UK, US, France, Germany, Japan, China and South Asia as well as delivering the core facets of crisis communications excellence including live simulations, creation and maintenance of crisis communications plans, crisis media training and regular auditing and mapping of potential risks.
